Bangkok After Dark awards were released for 2023 by BK Magazine. Congratulations to all the winners, and the list makes for a great list of places to explore for Bangkok’s nightlife.
As this site is dedicated to the beer places in Bangkok, especially local craft beer, below are the beer bars that earned an award. For a full list of the awards, you can check out the full article, here.
Best Dive Bar: Fatty’s Bar and Diner.
Highlights include craft beer on offer, and American style dishes, and live music.
Best Beer Bar: Mikkeller

Highlights include 30 taps serving beer from over 17 countries + green space at a traditional Thai style house in the Ekkamai area.
NOTE: the only beer bar with more taps is Craft on Soi 23, boasting 40 taps of beer.
Not listed in the article, but worth pointing out: Mikkeller also has a monthly running group that makes for an excellent excuse to hit up the bar the first Saturday of each month. A little 5km run with like minded athletes, and then trying out the beer specials (most often by Lurvig from Norway).
Best Pub: The Londoner

Highlights include: Bangkok’s oldest BrewPub, full menu, and cigar and whisky nights.
Also important to note is that they brew their own beer on premises. Fresh beer in a traditional British-style pub makes for a great choice for a night out or a bit of day drinking. As noted in the article, The Londoner is not located in the central Sukhumvit area, which can actually be a good thing.
