Thai Craft at SongCraft

On Song Wat road in Bangkok’s Chinatown, there is a recurring event that offers a chance to try Thai Craft at SongCraft festivals. It is a fun chance to meet some of the brewers in the Bangkok scene, and there are plenty of options to try mead and sato as well.

January was the first SongCraft Fest… The second in March… and there has been rumour that the next SongCraft fest will in May… As it was a very nice place to hang out, with a variety of courtyards to try local Thai craft beer, it would be nice to have this as a bimonthly event.

Brewave – a few lagers and lighter beers; Brewave is a chain of bars/brewpubs in the city.

Sandport – lager and a wheat beer on offer; based out of United People’s Brewery in the CHatuchak area.

Eva Brewing – Ahad a range of beers on offer like their Copper IPA; brewery out in Bang Na.

Sunrise – Fruited Sours and Double IPA.

Brewarian – beers including a Saisan, Porter, NEIPA.

Sato Sato

Umbrewla

Call Me Papa – Had their solid 4 core beers on offer; based in Nonthaburi.

Beer Nerd thoughts

It was great to see the event so popular, and even had the draw of a younger crowd. There was  A LOT of lagers there…. if that is what others were drinking, great, but it took me a moment to find something I wanted to drink.

I hope that the event will be a success and that many people will get the chance to support the local producers in Bangkok, but I also hope the producers will have something interesting to drink at the events.
