Hair of the Dog, Phrom Phong location, is a great choice to start a beer experience in Bangkok. It is centrally located, near a BTS station, and has a great selection imported craft beer, a few Thai beers, and ciders for customers to drink there, or take away.
Additionally, overlooking the beer bar is a gin bar offering a range of gins and tonic waters. Above the gin bar is Breakfast Story a restaurant specializing in breakfast, but open all day. If Bangkok is hit by a day of rain, it might be a good idea to start at the top floor and spend the day exploring the building.
Getting to Hair of the Dog (Phrom Phong):
Using the BTS (Skytrain): got to Phrom Phong station, and take exit 1. Walk straight out onto the street, and take a right at Robin Hood British Pub. Follow the parking lot around the corner, and the bar is located in the back.
Look for the old optometry equipment. There are more old medical lights inside giving the bar a very funky look and feel.
