The Fat Cow, Lat Phrao, is north of central Bangkok and rates above the usual burger spot with an impressive range of craft beers on tap and in the bottle. The restaurant has a fridge stocked full of local beer and soda, and there is a full bar to compliment the menu of burgers, pastas, and other good eats.

- Bang Wa (west side of the river, at Bang Wa BTS station)
- Ratchaphruek (very north of central Bangkok)
- Yaowarat (Chinatown – at Wat Mangkon MRT station)

The original Lat Phrao location is easy to get to using public transportation. Head north on the MRT* (subway) Blue line to Lat Phrao station, and use exit #3.
*Although Google Maps does not always make use of or suggest using the Bangkok MRT system, it is the easiest way to get there.
Local Bangkok Craft for locals in Bangkok
The Fat Cow survived and the original location in Lat Phrao even expanded, or at least moved across the street to a bigger place. The owner indicates it is because the place really caters for the locals that live in the area. There are definitely foreign customers, but the vast majority are the local community, and as such the Fat Cow is good about supporting the local community craft. Most of the beers on the Fat Cow’s draft system are local Thai craft beers, including Maalstroom and Hop Hog known in the city for making fruity sours.
On top of the full bar and 10 taps of craft beer, the Fat Cow also carries a local craft kratom soda by OG Kratom. For those unaware kratom is a leaf native to Southeast Asia that when chewed, or put into a drink, can give the users a bit a euphoric buzz. It has been used in the country for years by taxi drivers and day laborers to give an energy boost and to help with concentration.
As a burger place, the hamburgers are delicious and include pickles and fresh lettuce; the fries are made hot to order and tasty; and the buns are enough to hold it all together, but not overpower the taste of the burger.
