Mikkeller Bangkok was the first Mikkeller bar opened in Asia, even before Mikkeller Tokyo! Thus the bar brings in a number of tourists looking for that bit of beer tourism.
It is located in a refurbished house that has been turned into a craft beer bar, and has one of the most beers on tap in Bangkok. There are 30 taps to choose from, and a unique tasting room for beer explorers to explore the most unique and hard-to-find beers. All of this surrounded by the unique artwork of the Mikkeller brand.
Awarded best Beer Bar 2023, BAD awards by BK Magazine.
Mikkeller’s taproom was established in Bangkok 10 years ago. It has a wide range of beer on tap, a selection of cans and bottles available, and there is a kitchen, too. Mikkeller is in the middle of a neighborhood, so is a bit of a destination.
Mikkeller brewery is world famous and has a number of taprooms around the world, and part of being a world-wide organization is that many locations host a running club. Runners and/or joggers meet with beer lovers the first Saturday of every month for an evening run. The route is about 5.6km around the Ekkamai area along roads and sidewalks.
Getting to Mikkeller Bangkok bar:
Mikkeller is in the Ekkamai neighborhood, and so closest to Ekkamai BTS (Skytrain) station. From the station, exit 1, is a 20 minute walk up the busy street, and then a couple blocks into the neighborhood.
Using a taxi or local buses to get to the bar is suggested for those that do not feel like walking too far…. or if you do not want to get tired before joining the Mikkeller running group.
Address: 26 Ekkamai 10 Alley, Lane 2, Phra Khanong Nuea, Watthana. (Google Map)
There is plenty of seating inside and outside of Mikkeller’s Bangkok location. Inside the bar is modern wooden furniture, and the patio outside stretches from the entrance to the back entrance of the bar where the tasting room is located. Additionally, there is a lawn full of bean-bag chairs for lounging and enjoying beer amidst lush foliage. For the benefit of beer drinkers worried about an uneven lawn, the bean-bag chairs surround low tables to hold glasses of beer/wine/soda, or platters of food.
