It all started when a couple beer lovers sent a message to Bangkok Beer Guide’s Instagram asking about finding local beer in central Bangkok. Fortunately, we are happy to spread the beer love.

Hi, luv your page and thanks for the follow.
We will be in Bangkok next month for work and would like to try some local craft brews. Who would you recommend near the JW Marriot Queens Park?
Dave & Justine, Craft Beer Nutz
Central Bangkok, Sukhumvit especially, has a lot of bars, but most of them are serving imported beers, or the high production lagers. So if you’re looking to try some local craft beers, there are a few options below. (alphabetically)
- FYI – for more options than just listed below, our dedicated Bangkok beer map is here
- More information and highlights for the city overall can be found on our Bangkok Beer Booklet
39 Craft Coffee

39 Craft Coffee is a coffee bar by day, and at 5pm they become a craft beer bar. The beers on tap are well curated and have a variety of local and imported beers. There is also a variety of beer in their fridge. Easy place to just hang out.
Bootleg Brothers – Thailand’s highest brewery?

5th floor of the mall above Phrom Phong BTS station. Not hugely popular for the local beer crowd because although it brews its own beer on site, the drinking area is very modern and doesn’t feel like a beer bar.
Duke of Beerington Bottle Shop

The Duke is a small bottle shop that has a range of craft beers, most are imported, but they do carry Thai beers as well. Mostly bottles and cans, but a few taps as well.
Hair of the Dog; Phrom Phong & Ploen Chit

Hair of the Dog has two locations, and recently won Best Beer Bar award at the Bangkok BAD awards. Mostly fresh imported beer, but also will have a few local beer options.

Libertich

Libertich is a beer bar & lounge on an old style Bangkok street. They have a few taps of imports, but they have a fridge of local craft beers to explore. Its a dark, chill-out bar that is easy to hang out a while.
SUAD Bar

Suad is located not far from Nana BTS station, and the infamous Nana Plaza. It is a small-ish bar that offer a number of local beers in central Bangkok. It is a craft beer oasis for the area.
Warehouse by Jaang

Jaang’s bar will take a little bit of a walk, or a dedicated taxi ride as it is located in the middle of a neighborhood, between two parks. A very local bar that serves plenty of local beer and sato, even made by the owner behind the bar.
Other craft beer options for central Bangkok
- Arcadia – (not above as it is a little further outside the area) a dispensary and old-school arcade area with cocktails and a fridge of beers.
- Brewski – a casual rooftop bar that serves mostly imported beer. Top of Raddison Blue Plaza near Asok.
- Burbrit – Burmese craft beer taproom and kitchen on Sukhumvit road.
- CRAFT 23 – 40 taps + food options in an open-air patio setting, just up from infamous Soi Cowboy on Soi 23.
