A recent addition (2024) to the beer scene in Bangkok and located near ICONSIAM – Isara Pub and Brewery is a converted house that now serves beer and snacks. As of November 2025, they have started offering their own beer. It is definitely worth walking behind IconSiam to make it to Isara Pub and Brewery, an independent community brewery.

The pub is based in a converted house behind one of Bangkok’s largest malls. Inside has a number of couches, tables, and chairs. The wooden floor has a bit of a slant, but is a very chill and nice place to hang.

There are a couple tables to sit outside next to the wall covered with beer art.

Beer selection at Isara

The bar opened with 18 taps, of beer, and they are all constantly rotating. Recent visits show that some of the taps have changed to offer wine and other drinks to offer a wider variety.

Isara Pub & Brewery, is located in the neighborhood behind the ICS building, part the ICONSIAM mall complex.

Walk behind the parking garage of the ICS building, and there is a fence running along the back of the property.
The pub has its name on the side of the wall that looks over the fence, and a break in the fence is on the left. Walk through the break, and take the first right onto a narrow street and the bar is on the right hand side.

If you cross a ferry from the grandeur of a bank of a mall, a brief walk into the alleyways of the old community, you might not have imagined that there is a “mini brewery hidden behind the shadow of Icon Siam” brewing dreams and silently sending the aroma of malt.

Many people may not know that this brewery is just within reach. So, the beer community asked Mr. Benz, the owner of “Isara brewpub (independent brew pub)” or community brewery, to the path from underground secret bar to settling in the middle of the old community in a world-class tourist district.

“Dream Experiment” from underground House Bar to a big city center challenge.

Back in the beginning. My original place was a tiny ‘House Bar’. We turned the old house into an underground Homebrew beer bar. It was more like a lab. It was our dream experiment space. We all boil and eat. We exchanged with people who stopped by.

But at one point, moving to open a brewery in a major city center is a new challenge. It’s a very tempting step. But it’s my determination to build a brewery that I’ve dreamed of for a long time, to make it happen and finally tangible.

Tearing a giant size brewery into “Micro Brewery, Japanese smell” in a 50 year old wooden house.

When it comes to the term ‘brewery’, most people think of a big factory, a row of tables and chairs, a loud live music stage. But for Isara brewpub, we want to present a new look to the term brewery.

This is a compact brewery. Micro Brewery-like atmosphere, following a Japanese local neighborhood, but still the warmth of Homebrew and the character of the House Bar are full of it.

We chose to cover life, a 50-year-old wooden house located in the middle of an old community. It is beautifully decorated, simple, combining the bookshelves that we have collected from different angles to express our identity and preferences. Let everyone who enters feel the warmth, comfort, and friendliest feeling in the concept of “Public House”, a community communal space where anyone can stop by to relax, sit and chat and sip a good beer like visiting a friend’s house.

Cross the shore, let’s meet at ICONSIAM

Many may often wander around Icon Siam, but never knew that just across the shore, there’s a community-based brewery hidden here.

This time, the beer people invited us to lift the tank across the banks to introduce ourselves to everyone near the Chao Phraya river in the event ICONSIAM x BEERPEOPLE. Anyone who wants to taste the beer that has the heart of local brewers, the warmth of the community, and the real craft, come to have a glass. Sit and talk with us at the booth. After the event, if you like the atmosphere… The door of the old wooden house on the opposite side is always open to welcome everyone!
