Bangkok’s People Fest 2026

With a recent post on Time Out, the advertising and talk about Bangkok’s People Fest 2026 is really gaining traction. The name of the festival is undergoing change, which reflects the change seen in the festival and the organizers.

To be clear, this is not really a beer fest anymore. This is an everything fest. If anyone has been attending the recent events by the organizers, ประชาชนเบียร์ (are they still going by the English translation “Beer People”?), the events have fewer beer brands that you might recognize. There are more local spirits and alcohols, and the majority of them and the beers are quite sweet. There are more international brands that have the money to buy a big tent spaces at the event.

Translated Facebook Post:

“Last time !! THAT WILL HAVE BEER ON THE SHIRT!!!

There is no longer Beer People Festival. Because our event wants to expand helping people even wider. The word BEER was cut off to enable everyone to participate more. Therefore, this year’s event shirt will be the last time BEER will be in the event. From next year on, our big event will be called People Festival.

The souvenir at this event holds an important history of change. Those interested…”

“People Fest” is by Beer People (aka ประชาชนเบียร์) one of the biggest beer/spirits events in Bangkok.

Beer People Dropping Beer

As has been previously noted, in a post “Beer People Dropping Beer,” the festival organizers are dropping the word BEER from their festival names. While there is a stated reason by the organizers, there are some other reasons that could also be behind the change:

Facebook: The social media platform has been using technology to punish/restrict/discourage any pages that ‘promote alcohol’ – but probably not if you spend a lot of money to advertise on Facebook….

Stand out: There are a number of groups in Bangkok, and Thailand in general, that do events or things with beer, and most of them do NOT like each other – so need to differentiate.

Change in Crowd: The name of the game is to get as many people to visit the festival as possible, and is there as much interested in local beer anymore? Now that craft beer is legal and there are SO MANY ‘BREWERIES’ out there, is the same appeal there?

Which Beer brands: Many of the well-known beer brands found in Bangkok do not attend Beer People events anymore. Many of the brands in attendance are from small and new “breweries” and there have also been more international beer brands that are there with a lot of marketing money.
