Dear Bangkok Beer Guide,
Insincerely,
My husband and I will soon be visiting Thailand, starting in Bangkok. I want to take him to try some good beer, especially some that he can not find anywhere else. If it is a place where I can take some pretty photos, that would be even better!
We will be staying near Chinatown, do you have any suggestions?
Helen A’Faux
Dear Helen,
Welcome to Bangkok! We would be happy to give some suggestions for places to get some good beer and nice photos.
Beer In Bangkok’s Chinatown
Bangkok is a great area to walk around and enjoy – it is the largest Chinatown in the world (outside of China, of course). Its great to walk around, see a variety of sites, try local street food, and of course there are great beer options.
Check out this link and map for more information on info about Chinatown, by Rabbit Hill.
Pijiu Bar in Chinatown
Pijiu bar is located on Nana Street, which has a variety of bars and restaurants making it a great option for a fun evening in Chinatown.
– Cute traditional wood decor inside for good pictures.
– Beers on draft and in a fridge
Tai Soon on Google Maps
Pijiu Bar has a great mix of local Thai craft beer and good imported beers; it is on the same Nana Street as the famous cocktail bar: Teens of Thailand.
Nana street is an easy walk from the Bangkok Train station, and on the other side of the station is another good beer bar that has a rooftop: Com’On Bar.
Fat Cow Yaowarat
Although not very ‘traditional’ for Chinatown, the Fat Cow is a great stop that is centrally located. Drinks are kept inexpensive, and there are a menu of burgers, sandwiches, and steaks. You can also enjoy the beers and food on their rooftop.
– Local beers on draft at good prices.

Fat Cow Yaowarat is a close walk to Wat Mangkon MRT station and Rabbit Hill bar.
HAZE Bar
This is one of our top suggestions for local craft beer. It keeps some BIG flavor IPAs on tap. Local breweries to look out for:
– Baan Bangkok
– Samata Brewing
Haze Bar on Google Maps
HAZE bar is a top-notch location for local craft beer lovers, as well as for fans of Arsenal F.C., the Premier league football team.
Tai Soon Bar
A very cool bar that was once a Chinese medicine shop – they kept the outside of the building and as much of the interior as they can, but now it is a cool modern craft beer bar.
Tai Soon on Google Maps
Tai Soon Bar is a bit further out from the other bars that we have mentioned, but is still a good option for getting some cool pictures and good beers. Further down the same street is a local bottle shop, Wells Shop.
– it is also across from the very famous Jay Fai Thai restaurant that people wait HOURS in line to get a table.
