June 27th 2026; 6pm starts Saturday’s Alcohol Ban in Bangkok and Pattaya. This is due to an election happening on Sunday the 28th, and the ban takes effect for all people, foreigners and locals alike. This will effect stores, bars, restaurants, etc. Think ahead and stock up, or plan around it.

No doubt some confident online expats will say they have a hook-up and know better, but go ahead and check before you make a trip somewhere. Some places will just stop serving, other places will not be open.
Changes to events/openings
Book Festival / Beer & Books
Beers on offer will stop serving from 6pm Saturday to 6pm Sunday. The event will continue with the books part of the event, but the alcohol will have to be stopped.
Hair of the Dog
20% off all draft beer at Phrom Phong all day Saturday until 6pm when the “taps go silent” and then the bar will not open again until 6pm Sunday.
