A Friday afternoon, a chance to go out for Pickles Chicken and Beer in Ari. The Pickles is a small restaurant that shares a wall and doorway with Jim’s Burgers, but comes with tablecloths, and feels a little nicer. It was an excellent choice to enjoy:
- local Thai craft beer
- delicious fried chicken
- homemade hot sauces
- homemade pickles
Fried chicken at The Pickles

The chicken was delicious. Well seasoned and crunchy. It tastes like the chicken is marinated in a Thai-style, so has a slight sweetness in the meat. The menu indicates that the breading has cornflakes in the breading.
Also – on the menu, the Weihenstephaner had an option to serve their Vitus in a full 1,000 ml serving, and was ordered.
Beers at The Pickles & Jim's

The Pickles and Jim’s Burger seems to share the beer options. The beers written on the mirror seemed to be more decoration than actual offerings. The chalkboard menu on Jim’s side of the wall was the up-to-date menu, however, they still use the old name for Vana Brewing.
– The printed menu showed more options for beers as well.
- BaanBangkok (was on paper menu, but was out of stock…)
- Devanom
- Thursday
- Vana (listed as Brewing Project)
More places in Ari to check out:
- Dok Kaew House Bar – a converted 100-year-old-Thai House
- Eight Days a Week Homebar – a local favorite with a relaxed atmosphere and local beers.
- O’glee – modern restaurant with craft beer selection
So ends the outing of Pickles Chicken and Beer in Ari.
