JUSMAGTHAI American military Bar

A rather unique beer bar, JUSMAGTHAI brings in its own beer selection from the USA, it acts as a canteen serving traditional American food and Thai dishes, and it is probably the safest bar in the city, as you have to hand over an official ID to be able to get through the massive gate.

JUSMAGTHAI is located behind a large thick wall and a well-guarded gate. It is not physically located in the US Embassy, but is located in a Royal Thai Armed Forces facility.

The walls are lined with pictures of US military units, as well as the printed creeds and insignia of those units and branches.

NOTE: as the bar is located on a joint Thai/US military facility, you need to have a form of ID to enter.

The bar has a rotating selection of American craft beer in cans and bottles that are brought in by the US embassy.

The prices are kept low as they do not have to pay taxes on the beers.

Getting to JUSMAGTHAI

Address: 7 S Sathon Rd, Thung Maha Mek, Sathon, Bangkok 10120

The bar/commissary is on the south side of Sathon road near the southeast corner of Lumphini Park.

Using public transportation, it is a 4-minute walk from exit 1 of Lumphini Park MRT station.
Or it is a 15-minute walk from Sala Daeng BTS station on the Sukhumvit line.
