With 10 taps, a few beer fridges and a menu that emphasizes northern Thai food, Dok Kaew House bar is a unique bar and restaurant worth the trip. No word on rumours that the bar is haunted.

Features of the house bar:
- 10 taps of draft beer + beer fridges
- A refurbished house
- Local beer + international gems
- Welcoming and kind staff

The staff loves to chat about beer, and overall the bar is a great place to hang out and chill. The house bar has also increasingly added more events to its calendar, especially Food & Beer Pairings. Though, as the house is not that large, seating is rather limited.
Events seem to be happening regularly at Dok Kaew, such as:
- Food & Beer Pairings
- Baan Bangkok Tap Takeover

The house bar is not very close to either the BTS or MTR. The closest BTS (Skytrain) station is Sanam Pao, which is about 2 kilometers, or a 25 minute walk.
Another option is to go to Ari BTS station (the same for O’glee or Wraptor), and take a walk or Grab/taxi from there.

A couple of us visited the Dok Kaew House Bar on a Saturday in the beginning of January, when most of the pictures were taken. The bar staff were very kind and were happy to give suggestions on the beer (in English, by the way). They were great.
Additionally, there was some live music, and we enjoyed eating a couple of delicious northern Thai dishes. The most interesting were ome fermented sausage slices from the northern Thailand region of Isan.
