There are holidays in Thailand in which the greater authorities deem it necessary to ban the sale of alcohol. This weekend has a “booze-ban” on both days.
- Sat. July 20th, 2024 – Asarnha Bucha Day – marks Buddha’s first sermon.
- Sun. July 21st, 2024 – Wan Khao Phansa – signifies a period of monks staying in one location.
The sale of alcohol is restricted, and as a result some restaurants and bars will closed for both days. Many pubs and bars will still be open, but will not be serving any alcohol.
It is highly recommended that you check with the location before you go.
