Star Wars Day 2026

Star Wars Day 2026, May 4th, falls on a 3-day weekend in Bangkok. It is a bit of a holiday* for Star Wars fans… kinda. Or at least an excuse to make jokes and drink blue milk. Instead of going heavy on the dairy, there is also the option to go heavy on the dark and roasted flavors; as we say at the BK beer guide, it is ALWAYS stout season.

*May 4th is similar to the quote, “May the force be with you.”

Paths to explore the dark side in Bangkok

Hair of the Dog, Phrom Phong

The famous (or perhaps, infamous?) craft beer bar looks like a lunatic asylum, and also has a wall of fridges that include a specific fridge for stouts just a few degrees warmer.

Additionally, Hair of the Dog pretty much always has an imperial stout on tap.
– but fear not young padawon, the servings are a little smaller  so you do not have to power through a full stout.

Nitro stout at SUAD bar

SUAD bar, Nana BTS

Recently renovated, SUAD bar is upstairs and really loves its local beers. They even had the Chiang Mai Winter Stout on a NITRO tap!

If unfamiliar, ‘nitro’ is a different type of gas that is often used to give stouts, including Guinness, a mouth feel that is generally more creamy.

Not all bars keep beer on nitro, so it adds a great option. Some beers will also can their beers with nitro – see below.

Finger Heart, Silom

The bottle shop is in the neighborhood just south of Silom road, between Sala Daeng and Chong Nonsi BTS stations. Finger Heart have a wall of fridges, and they make sure to include some tasty stouts.

Pictured is a Chocolate Orange Stout (NITRO!) by Left Hand out of the USA.

Pint of Guinness at Blarney Stone in Bangkok

The Irish Stout Guinness

If the only stout you know and love is Guinness, then there are plenty of choices in Bangkok, and even a webpage dedicated to how cheap it can be found.
