St. Andrew’s Day is Scotland’s National Day, or at least the feast day for the country’s patron saint. Although it is not usually a beer-specific holiday, the Scots are often considered a nation of solid beer drinkers, and provides a great reason to get some food and beer and toast to a Happy St. Andrew’s 2025.
Although there is not a wide variety of Scottish-specific beers, there is BrewDog from Scotland, and many folk feel a Guinness stout is also a good drinking choice for a pub. Another Scottish brewery that can be found in Bangkok occasionally is Vault City Brewing.
– if there is any brewery in Bangkok that would be interested in doing a ‘kilt-lifter‘ style beer, please be in touch, as we know a bagpiper that would be happy to help promote it.
St. Andrew's at the Old English British Pub

The Old English is located just outside exit 3 of Thong Lor BTS station.
In honour of St. Andrew’s Day, they have put on the menu a haggis dish with neeps & tatties (turnips and potatoes, as is traditional), and for dessert, a battered fried Mars bar served with a scoop of ice cream.
To add even more atmosphere on Friday, the Old English also brought in a local bagpiper to play some tunes for some of the guests, including a few of the men that came dressed in kilts to enjoy the special day.
– FYI: the bagpiper is also the editor of the Bangkok Beer Guide. (wigipiper.com)
