Christmas is alive and well in Bangkok, though not as snowy as some would prefer. Although everyone knows that you are supposed to leave out milk and cookies, we believe Santa drinks beer.
A dark beer for cold climates
Traditionally, Santa Claus comes from the far north, so he comes from very cold places. We are going to guess that means he might want to be drinking some heavier beer to help keep him warm.
In the picture, Santa is drinking a Celebrator Dopplebock by Ayinger. Many stories and legends about Santa come from German winter traditions, so a one of the best beers that comes from Germany seems appropriate.
Do you know about the legendary beer Celebrator?
For beer drinkers that might already like drinking German beers (and especially bock beers) the Celebrator by Ayinger is a world-class beer that should be high on the list to experience. Despite its dark color, it is a bock, so it is still a lager and not as heavy as a stout. Really, if you have not had this, and you want to try a great beer, you need to try this one.
- dopple means double
- bock is a lager
- ABV is 6.7%
Santa opens his beer advent calendar
Winter Storm by Hop Nation is the first beer of the 12 Beers of Christmas. It was a great start, as the beer has a great bouquet of pine, and comes in with a 7.5% abv.
Santa drinks beer after he opens his 12 Beers of Christmas by Hair of the Dog. The box of beer has been kept in the fridge – they are all good beers that need to be refrigerated, after all.
- Bought at Hair of the Dog, Phrom Phong
- 12 Beers as an advent calendar
- 1st beer is Winter Storm by Hop Nation.
