Dok Kaew House bar has ten taps, 2 beer fridges, and a menu that emphasizes northern Thai food. The bar has developed a popular local following, even though, or in part because of, the rumours that the house is haunted.
The staff loves to chat about beer, and overall the bar is a great place to hang out and chill. It is located northwest of Victory Monument, northwest of central Bangkok.

Getting to the Dok Kaew house bar:
It is not very close to wither the BTS or MTR. The closest BTS (Skytrain) station is Sanam Pao, which is about 2 kilometers, or a 25 minute walk. Another option is to go to Ari BTS station, the same for O’glee or Wraptor, and take a walk or Grab/taxi from there.
A couple of us visited the Dok Kaew House Bar on a Saturday in the beginning of January, when most of the pictures were taken. The bar staff were very kind and were happy to give suggestions on the beer (in English, by the way). They were great.
Additionally, there was some live music, and we enjoyed eating a couple of delicious northern Thai dishes. The most interesting were some sausages from the northern Thailand region of Isan if I remember correctly. This included some fermented sausage slices. Delicious!
However, our timing was not great because the taps system was going through a deep clean, and thus draft beer was not an option. There were plenty of cans and bottles to choose from, so there were no problem for selection, but the pictures of the tap wall and the chalk board taplist (below) both reflect the lack of craft beer on tap.
Guess I have another excuse to visit Dok Kaew soon!
